My name is Alan, thanks for stopping by website. I am a chef. I love nothing more than beautiful food. Cooking it and eating it. From a very young age I knew that all I wanted to do with my life was cook, and that is what I have done. I have been very fortunate, cooking has taken me all over the world and given me the opportunities to cook in some exciting places for some exceptional people.
I have always struggled with my weight. I was always the heavy kid at school. I never had enough food on my plate, I was always looking for seconds, another scoop of pudding or ice cream, simply put I was never satisfied. Being a chef and loving good food didn’t make things any easier and I gradually ballooned throughout my working life. Binging on junk food non stop I was always tired and I lacked energy and drive. This all finally came to a head in 2013. Fat, tired and overweight, the doctor put me on prescription medication for hypertension and gout, this all at the age of 36. It seemed more health complications were inevitable, type two diabetes seemed a certainty and I would more than likely become a statistic.
Not satisfied knowing that this is what my life had come too, I decided to make a change. I immersed myself in the internet and began researching the world of food, nutrition and dietary health. What I found scared me, but at the same time reset my thinking and liberated me from the shackles of ever failing health.
I had an insatiable appetite for knowledge, I read every paper, article, blog or book I could get my hands on. After satisfying myself that the correct way to eat was to adopt an eating plan high in very healthy fats, moderate protein, lots of green vegetables and very low carbohydrate, I began experimenting on myself. The results were nothing but astounding. I tweaked my results and gradually using my knowledge as a professional chef developed a structure and a plan that anyone can stick to, beautiful recipes and no counting calories. The result, 35 kilograms lighter, fitter at 38 than I was at 18, boundless energy, effortless weight loss and a reclamation of my health! I will grow old healthy enjoying a quality of life of I never knew possible.
I have since helped many people get their health back on track and begin the journey of a proper diet, eating the foods that we were always meant to eat. The foods that our grandparents and great grandparents ate! We can stop the binge eating cycle, the sugar addiction and crutch of eating junk food. I have made it my mission to empower as many people as I can to plan their meals, shop for fresh foods that come from the earth and not a cardboard box.
